STEPHANIE SEYMOUR was arrested on Friday night on suspicion of driving while under the influence, it emerged today. The model was pulled over in Greenwich, Connecticut, CNN reports, after a minor traffic accident.
It's said that Seymour was behind the wheel of her Range Rover which was stationary at a stop sign when she began reversing and struck the vehicle behind her. Officers at the scene reportedly asked her to take a sobriety test because she was displaying signs of having consumed alcohol, and her refusal meant that she was arrested. She was released on a $500 bond and will appear to answer charges of "DUI and unsafe backing" at Stamford Superior Court in early February.

Seymour rose to fame as a model in the late Eighties and early Nineties, becoming one of the first faces of the then-new lingerie label Victoria's Secret. She led the way for the supermodels of the Nineties in her deft balancing of high-end editorial, including Vogue covers, and lucrative advertising deals.

Her private life has been written about almost as much as her career, and her tumultuous relationships - including one with musician Axl Rose, which ended acrimoniously - and addiction issues have been particularly well documented. Now 47, her recent past has been much more tranquil following her 1995 marriage to billionaire businessman Peter Brant. She is a mother of four - three sons and a daughter - the eldest of whom is now 25.
